Role model...
Aged 16, Lorraine was spotted by a model scout whilst shopping in London's Covent Garden. She was whisked off to New York and represented some of the world’s most successful designers including Chanel, Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Versace and Donna Karan. She was also the first British black model to grace the cover of American Elle.
From catwalk to cakewalk...
After moving back to London, Lorraine decided to take a diploma cookery course at Leiths School of Food and Wine. She then completed a two year foundation degree in International Culinary Arts in Pastry and later started her own business as a specialist celebration cakemaker, securing an exclusive contract with iconic store Selfridges.
First class charity work...
Not content with being one of Britain’s brightest baking stars, in 2011, Lorraine achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Culinary Arts Management. She also supports three children's charities close to her heart – TACT, Rays of Sunshine and Dr Barnados – and is an Ambassador for Prince Charles’ charitable organisation, The Prince’s Trust.
