Why are all my favorite shows on at such strange times? Doctor Who is in the afternoon and not during prime time in the evening. Dancing with the Stars / Strictly Come Dancing is on super early on weekend mornings. Homes under the hammer is also in afternoons only. Please, move these three shows to prime time now as they are too good to waste during the day only.

BBC

Dear Stefan,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

The difficulty for our scheduling team is that it would be an impossible task to schedule programmes at times that would meet with the universal approval of all of our viewers all of the time. However, our programmes are often scheduled at different parts of the day providing viewers with the opportunity to watch a show at a time that is most suitable for them. For example, EastEnders is shown at different timeslots in the week as well as on Sundays and the TV schedule should help viewers to plan their viewing.

You also mention in your message Strictly Come Dancing which is currently showing on BBC Entertainment on Saturday mornings, this series has been shown on the channel previously and on this occasion we have scheduled this particular series in a different timeslot.

Thank you for sending us your feedback which we very much appreciate.

Best wishes,

When did BBC Entertainment start to send adverts on tv? Silent witness on saturday was filled with it.

BBC

Dear Mette,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

Advertising was introduced to BBC Entertainment Norway in March 2013. As noted in the FAQs on our website, this was a carefully considered decision and we can assure you it will not compromise the integrity and quality of the programmes you are used to and enjoy watching. We know our viewers value the best of British content on BBC Entertainment, and the revenues generated through advertising will allow us to invest in even more of these programmes.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to send us your feedback on this matter.

what's the big difference between bbc america and bbc nordic ? because they get all the new tv shows we in the Nordic region only get old shows why is that? we are paying customers to

BBC

Dear Martin,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

As a commercial entity, BBC Worldwide Channels does not automatically gain the rights to BBC programmes, rather we must bid for them with other broadcasters. In addition, when we buy programmes from the BBC and independent production houses, sometimes the rights to certain programmes are only available in particular territories.

As you may have read in other replies on this site, due to rights and availability issues, there will usually be a delay between original transmission and when we are able to bring programmes to our international viewers, but we try to minimise this wherever possible. We do hope that you are currently enjoying Alan Carr: Chatty Man on BBC Entertainment on Thursday evenings which is being shown just under two weeks after its UK transmission.

Thank you for your feedback.

Best wishes,

Tommy& Vivian

HI: my fiance and I would like to know about BBC Entertainment sends the new seasons of Top Gear

BBC

Dear Tommy & Vivian,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We are delighted to read that you are both fans of Top Gear and we hope you enjoyed Top Gear Week on BBC Entertainment in August. There is no new series of Top Gear due to be shown on the channel imminently but we would advise you to keep a check on our website where we provide details of future programming on our channels. You may also find our website useful to plan your viewing of Top Gear on BBC Entertainment, which on New Year's Eve includes Top Gear Special: The Worst Car In The History Of The World and Top Gear's Bolivia Special.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

BBC-Lifestyle broadcast a number of very entertaining programmes, however, you are overdoing the programme repeats. E.g. Extreme Makeover - get some new episodes, Homes under the Hammer - make some new episodes. I would appreciate less repeats and more new interesting programmes. And by the way - the newest Marbella Mansions series is boring and the homes I've seen so far not even beautiful. With the number of viewers you have around the world and the impact watching these British programmes have on these viewers English one would think that you could afford new programmes and thus attract even more viewers. Best regards,

BBC

Dear Lene,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We are pleased to read that you enjoy some of the programmes we broadcast on BBC Lifestyle, however we note that you are not a fan of Marbella Mansions. You mention that you feel some programmes are repeated too frequently, and as with most cable and satellite channels, repeats are a feature of most schedules. This is welcomed by those viewers who don't watch the same channel every day and, due to the multi-channel environment, often miss complete series. You mention that you would like to see new programmes on BBC Lifestyle and may we take this opportunity to mention that premiering on the channel in November are A Taste of Greenland series 2, The Restaurant Inspector series 2 and a new series of DIY SOS.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to send us your feedback which we very much appreciate.

Best wishes,

hi. why on earth are you airing 'end it like beckham'? putting it on instead of a qi episode doesn't help either. shows like this is not at all something i'd expect to see on bbc; pointless analysis of celebrities, interviews with people speculating in how they live their lives, what's the point? this is about as entertaining and relevant as 'big brother'. one of the reasons why people love bbc, is the abscense of shows like this. there are literally hundreds of channels broadcasting braindead, stupid, shallow 'documentaries' about celebrities about as interesting as sprouts, why should the bbc follow suit? i expect a higher standard from you people...

regards, jørgen

BBC

Dear Jørgen,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We are grateful to you for contacting us with your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy End It Like Beckham which was recently broadcast on BBC Entertainment. It would be a near impossible task for us to schedule programmes that will appeal to all of our viewers all of the time. For example, you mention QI and while this is undoubtedly a hugely popular series on BBC Entertainment as you may have read on this site other viewers do not personally enjoy this series.

We do hope that you are currently enjoying brand new episodes of QI series 10 on Mondays at 22:00. Thank you again for taking the trouble to send us your feedback and please be assured that your comments about End It Like Beckham have been noted.

Best wishes,

Luci

Dear BBC,

I cannot understand why programs like Top Gear and Extreme Makeover Home Edition get sent on the Entertainment, Lifestyle and Knowledge channels in such great amounts. As a Nordic viewer, I find that the same programs are sometimes scheduled at the same time on different BBC channels. As a viewer who does not appreciate these programs, I would like it if the BBC were to make an effort to create a better variety of scheduling of the BBC's programs on different channels. I am also sad to experience the ads for BBC shows that come every 15 minutes. Especially since they repeat themselves ad nauseam. The BBC is losing my respect and I tune in less because there are fewer programs to watch despite my paying for more of your channels. The ads get old after one has seen them twice.

BBC

Dear Luci,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

It was good of you to contact us with your feedback about our programmes and how they are scheduled on our channels. Top Gear and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which you mention in your message are both extremely popular programmes with a large portion of our audience. As with most cable and satellite channels, repeats are a feature of most schedules. This is welcomed by those viewers who don't watch the same channel every day and, due to the multi-channel environment, often miss episodes or complete series.

We note that you are not personally a fan of Top Gear or Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and it is perhaps inevitable that some programmes will appeal to some viewers more than others. We do hope you will find other programmes more to your taste including in November the premiere of Whitechapel series 3 and Would I Lie To You? series 6 on BBC Entertainment. We also hope that you are a fan of Alan Carr: Chatty Man which is premiering on Thursday evenings on BBC Entertainment just under 2 weeks after its premiere in the UK.

Regarding the introduction of advertising to BBC Entertainment in Norway, this is a decision that we carefully considered and we can assure you it will not compromise the integrity and quality of the programmes you are used to and enjoy watching. We know our viewers value the best of British content on BBC Entertainment, and the revenues generated through advertising will allow us to invest in even more of these programmes.

Thank you for sending us your feedback.

Why do we have to be 6 weeks behind the UK in EE?

BBC

Dear Marie,

Thank you for your message to BC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region. r

We appreciate your interest in EastEnders. Due to rights and availability issues, there will always be a delay between original transmission and when we are able to bring programmes to our international viewers. Regarding EastEnders, we also need to arrange for EastEnders to be subtitled into a number of different languages before it is broadcast on BBC Entertainment Nordic, however we do seek to bring EastEnders to viewers in the Nordic region as soon as we can.

Thank you for contacting us.

Hello BBC. I wonder why you are sending Strictly Come Dancing so early in the morning on Saturday. Would love to see this program but Saturday morning is a little bit early. Me and my wife loves Strictly Come Dancing. Thanks!

BBC

Dear Lenarte,

We are delighted to read that you and your wife are fans of Strictly Come Dancing. The series currently on BBC Entertainment has been shown on the channel previously and on this occasion we have scheduled this particular series in a different timeslot. We have noted your feedback that you would prefer to watch Strictly Come Dancing at a later time on the channel and we will pass this on to our scheduling team.

Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in our programmes.

Best wishes to you and your wife.
