Can you please show the Day of the Doctor on your channel as a part of the global simulcast that will be going on in over 75 countries because of the 50th anniversary special episode with previous mentioned name? I'm living in Iceland and there is a rather big fan group here of Doctor Who, whom would love to be able to watch the show when it's being broadcasted. Is it possible or what?

BBC

Dear Ingemar,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We are pleased to read that you enjoy watching Dragons' Den in Sweden and we will pass on your request for new series to our programming team. We do hope you are currently enjoying brand new episodes of QI on Mondays and Would I Lie To You? on Wednesdays on BBC Entertainment.

Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in our programmes.

I view the BBCs Nordic channels quite often, but there is a bit too many repeats of the same programs. I would have liked to see "Newsnight" and "Andrew Marr" on the air. UK politics are just as interesting for a Norwegian audience as for a UK one. The "Norwegian" somali who took part in the terrorist attack in Nairobi and presented on Newsnight is an example of interesting broadcasts by the BBC.

BBC

Dear Oscar,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We note your interest in watching Newsnight and The Andrew Marr Show on our channels in the Nordic region. We don't currently have plans to include either of these programmes on BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge or BBC Lifestyle, however if you have access to BBC World News you may find the coverage of British politics on this channel of interest.

You also mention that you feel some programmes are repeated too frequently and as you may have read in other replies on this website, as with most cable and satellite channels, repeats are a feature of most schedules and this is welcomed by those viewers who don't watch the same channel every day and, due to the multi-channel environment, often miss complete series. However, we do note that you feel there are too many repeats on our channels and we have noted your feedback on this issue.

Thank you for contacting us.

I am utterly disgusted by bbcNordic cable/satelite television channels offered here in Iceland. The programs are constantly the same thing each month; the shows are always the same things each day, i.e. Dragon's Den, Mudcats, Ancient Aliens, Qi, Graham Norton, My Family, blah blah blah or other stupid shows as like those. Your variety is making me angry because there is no variety. You take off the good shows that used to be on to give us the same rolling tape of crappy shows each and every night and month. The good shows, you do not even show again unless they are being aired when normal people are in bed or at work. I mean, where's The Doctors, Waterloo Road, plus others that used to show and are interesting and not promoting some stupid ideological hidden agenda? I am quitting this waste of money cable package. I am sure Christmas holidays will be the same, as they were the last several years.

BBC

Dear Konný,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

The schedules for our channels are compiled by an experienced group of programme schedulers who fill each day with the best programmes they believe our audiences will enjoy. Viewing habits and differences in working hours mean that we repeat our shows in different day parts in order to allow viewers plenty of opportunity to catch their favourites. We note that you are not a fan of some of our most popular shows such as QI and we hope that you may enjoy instead some of our other programmes such as brand new series of Whitechapel and Would I Lie To You? in November. We have also noted your request for Doctors and Waterloo Road to be shown on BBC Entertainment in the future.

We do hope that you will continue to watch our channels and coming up in December, in addition to Christmas specials we also have a Christmas Comedy strip from 20:00 every night which we hope you will enjoy.

Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to contact us with your feedback which we very much appreciate.

I'm craving for British medical drama. Why is the excellent Casualty shown in Europe but not in the Nordics? Casualty and EastEnders are my to favorite BBC shows.

Same thing for daily soap Doctors which is paired with EasEnders on your European channel. Bring both of these to Scandinavia.

BBC

Dear Eva,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Nordic region.

We have noted your request for more medical drama on BBC Entertainment. Casualty and Doctors are not due to be shown on BBC Entertainment but we have noted your interest in them. In the meantime we hope you continue watching EastEnders currently on BBC Entertainment. May we take this opportunity to mention that there will be a brand new series of Whitechapel also on BBC Entertainment from 9th November.

Will the special 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who be shown in Scandinavia alongside the UK, US and other countries on the 23 of November? If not, will it be shown at a later date? I'm sure I'm not the only fan who would love to see it - according to online reports I have seen, as many as 75 countries are simulatenously broadcasting it, but none of the Scandinavian countries so far. Also- I wondered why the episodes in season 6 are being shown out of order? Thanks!

BBC

Dear Linda,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

It has now been confirmed that there will be no simulcast of the 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who on BBC Worldwide channels in the Nordic region. The reason for this is because YLE in Finland and Denmark's DR have the first rights to broadcast Doctor Who and as BBC Entertainment Nordic is available throughout Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark it can only follow their transmission of Doctor Who after a considerable time period has lapsed. Unfortunately there isn't a primary broadcaster for Doctor Who in Sweden or Norway, however BBC Worldwide continues its efforts to find a home for this popular series in those two countries. We hope fans will enjoy the Doctor Who programmes coming up on BBC HD in November, including Doctor Who: Best of Doctor Who, Doctor Who at the Proms, Doctor Who Specials and Doctor Who Confidential, and that they are also continuing to enjoy series 6 currently on BBC Entertainment Fridays. Further scheduling information can be found on the TV schedule on our website

Regarding Doctor Who series 6, episodes of this series have been scheduled to broadcast in the correct sequence, however this series is being shown on both BBC Entertainment and BBC HD in the Nordic region so it could be that you are watching episodes on both channels . You may find the TV schedule useful in planning your viewing of Doctor Who and scheduling information for this series on BBC Entertainment and BBC HD can be found here

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

Hi .... I have a question if you know about the wonderful series "The Paradise" which was shown in Sweden recently will be released on DVD with Swedish subtitles? Love to See it to come so one can buy it. It is available now in Sweden but imported goods and only with English language. This is the best series I've seen in a long time from the BBC and regret deeply that I missed recording the first 4 episodes and have only the last four. And now comes the season 2 to appear in England starting tomorrow and we have to wait a whole year before we will see it in Sweden so I could console myself with seeing season 1 on DVD with Swedish subtitles.

BBC

Dear Anita,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We are very pleased to read that you are a fan of The Paradise. To enquire about whether this series is available on DVD with Swedish subtitles may we suggest that you may like to contact the BBC Shop via the following website http://www.bbcshop.com/

Instead of running endless fillers inbetween programmes why not show a BBC weather forecast for Europe instead? Those are already produced by the BBC weather team and shown on BBC World News frequently. Just lift one of those over to BBC Entertainment.

BBC

Dear Bruna,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in the Nordic region.

We appreciate your feedback. We always welcome suggestions from our viewers and we have noted your feedback that you would like to see weather forecasts on BBC Entertainment.

Best wishes,
