Five multi-millionaires looking for their next big investment meet a stream of budding entrepreneurs hungry for a cash injection to turn their business dreams into reality.

Who will impress the Dragons with their three-minute pitch and go on to secure financial backing? And who will leave the Den empty-handed and shamed?

    Dragon Duncan Bannatyne

    Glaswegian Duncan broke his business stride trading frozen bites out of a £450 ice cream van, and went on to start a nursing home business that sold for £46 million in 1996.

    He is now known for his Bannatyne chain of bars and hotels, as well as his Sensory Spa chain of luxury wellbeing hotspots. He is worth more than £130 million!

    Dragon Theo Paphitis

    Theo has come a long way since running his school’s tuck shop at 15. Most notably, he was Chairman of Millwall FC for eight years, taking the club out of administration, into the Championship and into Europe.

    He has also revived the fortunes of such notable retail brands as La Senza, Contessa Lingerie, Ryman, Partners the Stationers and Stationery Box.

  • Peter Jones

    Dragon Peter Jones

    After founding his own tennis academy at the tender age of 16, Peter turned technical and set up a computer and support business that was fated by a bad investment in a restaurant.

    Never one to be beaten, in 1998 he founded Phones International, a thriving telecommunications firm. He is worth more than £300 million!

  • James Caan

    Dragon James Caan

    James was a a self-made millionaire by the age of 40, having created and sold two executive headhunting firms – Alexander Mann Group and Humana International.

    He went on to graduate from the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 2003, and set up the highly successful private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw in 2004.
