Drama is coming to BBC Nordic, starting with season one of Death in Paradise, available to watch weekdays at 18:00 from Monday 23rd September.
The home of bright TV just got brighter! Drama is coming to BBC Nordic and BBC Nordic+, starting with the first season of the sun-kissed crime drama, Death in Paradise, available to watch weekdays at 18:00 from Monday 23rd September on BBC Nordic.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean coast, Death in Paradise is the award-winning, BBC light-crime franchise by Robert Thorogood which follows a British detective as they go about solving a series of mysterious murders in tropical paradise.
Season one begins with Detective Inspector, Richard Poole, (played by Ben Miller) as he embarks on a new venture, having been sent to solve the terrible murder of a British policeman on the sandy shores of the Caribbean’s, Saint Marie.
With the help of his new partner, the brilliant and instinctive DS Camille Bordey, (played by Sara Martins) the two detectives, along with the rest of the team at the Saint Marie Police force, set about solving a new, mind-boggling murder with every episode.
What to expect
A total fish out of water, Detective Inspector Poole must adapt to his new surroundings as he attempts to uncover the truth behind each mysterious crime.
But with the death of a bride on her very own wedding day to the murder of a local diver, the team’s caseload is piling high this season.
Different dynamics
Clever and humorous, this warm, light-hearted crime series promises to amuse fans with every episode, as opposite personalities, DI Poole and DS Bordey try to strike a balance as they go about their investigations.
Bickering aside, the pair make the perfect team, but neither would dare to admit it!
The Cast
Season one of Death in Paradise sees English actor and comedian, Ben Miller (of Armstrong and Miller) as Saint Marie’s newest detective, Richard Poole, while TV and film’s Sara Martins, (of Those About to Die) plays DS Camille Bordey.
Gary Carr, Danny John-Jules and Lenora Crichlow make up the rest of the Saint Marie force as Officer Fidel Best, Officer Dwayne Myers and Sergeant Lily Thomson, respectively.
Other stars include Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, while Elizabeth Bourgine plays Camille’s mother, Catherine Bordey.
Stunning scenes
Set and filmed within the picturesque shores of Saint Marie in the tropical Caribbean, the island provides the perfect backdrop for DI Poole and the rest of the team to conduct their investigations.
With scenes featuring sandy beaches, stunning seascapes and island-life, the series promises beautiful scenery for audiences to enjoy with every episode, as the detective duo get closer to uncovering the truth behind each mysterious murder.
When to watch
You can watch the first episode of Death in Paradise S1 on Monday 23rd September at 18:00 on BBC Nordic. But if you have Nordic+, you can watch from Friday 20th September. You don’t want to miss it!
