Kirstie’s Fill Your House For Free
Kirstie Allsopp helps people transform their homes with
furniture that’s been sourced for free, showing that
second-hand is definitely not second best.
There’s just one big rule in this inspiring series – things may be cheap, but they have to look stylish.
There’s no other makeover show quite like this one, as property and interiors guru Kirstie Allsopp takes on the challenge of transforming two homes each episode, without spending any money!
She wants to show how simple it can be to transform, repair and give a new lease of life to once loved furniture.
In the UK alone, a staggering 10 million items of furniture are thrown away every year, with the clear-up costing a massive £33 million a year.
To halt this throwaway culture, Kirstie takes over a large shop and stocks it full of items of furniture that have been sourced for free. By enlisting the help of inventors and designers, she proves what can be achieved by upcycling and recycling.
Across the series, Kirstie and the team help a young couple furnish their first flat together, source and create sturdy and stunning pieces for a large family whose furniture has taken a battering, and transform a bathroom from cramped and chaotic into a nautical themed sanctuary.
