Borneo: Sun, Bears and Orangutans – (the “Competition”)
Terms & Conditions
- The BBC Code of Conduct (the “Code”) for competitions can be found at www.bbc.co.uk/competitioncode and all BBC Studios (“BBCS”) promotions must comply with the Code.
- The Competition is open to all residents of the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark) aged 18 years or over except BBCS or BBC employees, and anyone BBCS deems to be connected with the Competition (“Entrants”).
- By entering the Competition, the Entrants agree:
- to be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
- that their full name and place of residence may be released if they win a prize;
- that should they win the Competition, their name and likeness may be used by BBCS for pre-arranged promotional purposes.
- No purchase is necessary to enter.
- The Competition will run for a period of 9 days opening at 12:00 CET 9th November 2024 (09/11/2024) and closing at midnight CET 18th November 2024 (18/11/2024) (“Closing Date”). After the Closing Date, 1 (one) winner will be selected based on the criteria set out in clause 6.
- Entrants should correctly complete the following multiple-choice questionnaire about the show “Asia” online on our channel website bbcnordic.com: Which country is not in Asia? A) China B) Vietnam C) France?’ prior to the Closing Date in order to enter the Competition.
- Only one (1) entry will be permitted per person regardless of method of entry and bulk entries (meaning the use of any form of technology which allows multiple simultaneous entries) will not be permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical or other reason. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered. Entries cannot be returned.
- Entrants must supply to BBCS their full name, postal address, email address and daytime telephone number. BBCS will only ever use Entrant’s personal details for the purposes of administering this Competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. The BBCS Privacy Policy is available at https://www.bbcstudios.com/privacy/
- The winning entrant (“Winner”) will be the [1] correct entry drawn at random after the closing time.]
- The prize will be for the Competition will be return flights from across the Nordics (Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki or Copenhagen) to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Economy fare). Plus return scheduled flights from Kuala Lumpur to Borneo (economy fare). Note that the Prize Winner is to organise own transport to and from the relevant airport and car parking at this airport is not included. Outbound flight and return flight is to be mutually agreed at later date between the Parties. Includes: Private transfers between airport and hotel in Kuala Lumpur and Borneo by taxi; 2 nights’ accommodation in a double room including breakfast in Kuala Lumpur; 2 (two) people, in a 5-star hotel; 4 nights’ accommodation in a double room, including breakfast and dinner, in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo; For 2 (two) people, in a five star hotel; Room service is not included. £500 spending money for activities and lunch/ dinner. Note that the Competition organiser will not be responsible for ensuring the Prize Winners passports are valid and that any necessary visa requirements are adhered to. Note that the Competition organiser will not be responsible for ensuring the Prize Winner consults their GP prior to travel if they are concerned about any medical issue that may affect their ability to travel. Note the prize is valid for 12 months and is subject to availability & excludes all official school & bank holidays & local festivals. Prize experiences must be booked 3 months prior to date of departure. The prize is valid for 2 adults aged 21 and over unless otherwise stipulated.
- The Winner(s) will be notified within 60 days of the Closing Date by email. If the Winner(s) is unable to be contacted within [one calendar month] of the Closing Date of the Competition, BBCS reserves the right to offer the Prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the Prize in any future BBCS competition.
- On successful contact and confirmation with the Winner, they will be allocated a Four Corners Prize Winner manager who will liaise with them to find out their preferences for their trip (i.e. dates, any special diets, accessibility requirements etc). The Four Corners Prize Winner manager will then check the availability and go back to the Winners with a suggested itinerary to approve for the trip. Once booked, Four Corners supply the Winners with a fully detailed itinerary including the reference needed to check in online for the flights, vouchers for excursions, hotel booking references and full addresses.
- There is no cash alternative and the Prize will not be transferable. BBCS accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize and not specifically included in the Prize. If the Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, BBCS reserves the right to substitute the Prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
- The name and place of residence of the Winner(s) may be obtained by sending a self-addressed envelope FAO Marketing Department to 1 Television Centre, GB, 101 Wood Lane London W12 7FA within two months of the closing date of the Competition.
- Any promotional activity or press release the winner makes in relation to the Competition must be pre-approved by BBCS in writing.
- BBCS excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the Competition or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.

Claims relating to the prize should be made directly to the manufacturer. You agree to release Facebook from all liability whatsoever in connection with the Competition.
- This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. You understand that you are providing your information to BBC Studios and not to Facebook.
- Entry into the Competition is acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- BBCS reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Competition or the Prize at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
- The Competition is subject to the laws of England and Wales.
